Celebrating 20 years of Pastor Scott’s ministry, this message looks back at a life lived by faith and the making of a child of God. Hebrews 11 memorializes those in the Old Testament who overcame challenges by faith in God. They are examples to us to continue in the faith and stay connected to God and His word. Just as God saw the people of the Bible through, so will He see us and His church through. Some Materials Referenced in these Study Notes including DVD's are available. “20 Years in t...

A look at church history shows that the celebration of December 25th came out of pagan traditions that had nothing to do with Christ. In the Old Testament, there were feasts or set times of God. These set times are prophetically connected to Christ, and He must fulfill them. In the Old Testament, there are no set times in the month of December. In order to fulfill the prophecy of God’s set time, Christ had to be born in September. A study of Scripture, secular history, and astronomical events...

The stars record both the finished work of Christ and the deeds of the devil. The placement and names of the stars are ancient, showing that God has always had a plan of redemption written above as a witness to all who will see. Astrology and mythology have a common thread that leads you back to the Bible. Focusing on the constellations Capricorn through Taurus and their decans, we see a picture of deliverance and holy triumph. They reveal the sacrifice of Christ, the pouring out of the Spirit, the spread of the gospel, and the growth of the church. Knowing what year Christ was born in will not affect your salvation. However, His birth must line up with one of the feasts that are laid out in the Old Testament. When examining biblical and historical data, it is very clear that December 25th is not Christ’s birthday. It is more likely He was born in September, in 7 or 6 B.C., fitting into the set times of God. The Gospels of Matthew and Luke provide different details about Christ’s birth and His early childhood. The accounts tell us where He was born and what time of the year it was. Jesus was not born at Christmas, and the Magi did not visit Him at birth, but rather when He was a young child. If you look at every detail of the zodiac, the entire message of the gospel is written in the stars. There is no mythological figure and no other person in history whom all this symbolism could refer to but Christ. It is a permanent memorial of God’s plan to redeem man through His dear Son. Before the Bible was written, God put stars in the sky for a sign. They would have been the clearest, most recognizable symbols in ancient times, and they depict the whole unfolding of Christ’s life. The gospel in the stars shows us that God had a plan from the foundations of the world. During the creation, God said of the celestial splendor of the stars, “Let them be for signs.” The first zodiac sign, Virgo the virgin, reveals a detail that cannot specifically be attached to another virgin in mythology or in antiquity. The surrounding constellations to the north and south of it confirm that they and Virgo refer to none other than the Virgin Mary and her son, Jesus Christ. In order to investigate the birth and the life of Christ, you must look at the internal evidences in the Bible. There are references to historical figures and astronomical events, as well as prophecies written hundreds of years before Christ was born. Psalm 19 states, “The heavens declare the glory of God.” A study of the constellations reveals that they paint a picture of the prophecies about Christ and His life. The devil planted seeds of doubt to make Adam and Eve question God and disobey Him. The consequence of sin is death. We are all sinners born in the blueprint of fallen Adam, but Christ shed His blood to reconcile us to God. To obey Him is to run to the voice of the Sayer; to listen to another voice is sin.
