The modern-day evangelists’ altar call, which invites us to “receive Jesus Christ as our Lord and Savior,” is blasphemous. To “receive” Christ does not mean to receive the individual, the Son of God, but rather to receive the message, the good news of Jesus Christ. “New management” has come to help us to start walking, to keep walking, and to stay connected by faith on the path to spiritual maturity.
