In Genesis 22, God commands Abraham to sacrifice his only son, to see what was in Abraham’s heart. Abraham trusted that God would keep His promise to make him the father of many nations. God saw his obedience and provided a substitute sacrifice. God is looking for faith like Abraham’s that puts Him first at any cost.
