Jude calls to memory the saying that there will be mockers of God in the last days. These mockers behave childishly towards the things of God; they have an egocentric focus, and they cause division in the body of Christ. By contrast, the faithful minister has a singular focus: to bring forth the word of God and build up the body of Christ. Jude’s admonition is a clarion call to the faithful: ignore the mockers, keep the focus, and keep the faith.
