Paul’s instructions to wives and husbands are not about inferiority but about the order to domestic life. God made Adam and Eve equal. For their disobedience, both were cursed. Although we are set free in Christ, we are still living under the curse. God intended marriage to be a reflection of Christ’s relationship with His people. Paul is teaching what family looks like in God’s order of things.
