By using the original Greek text of Colossians 1:16, we see that Christ is the basis for creation, He was the instrument of creation, and He created it for Himself. The purpose of creation goes back to Him. Since He was the Creator, He could not have been created, which puts Him above all angels. We are part of the creation, and God’s plan for us is to praise Him. This Study Note is followed by a Study Handout primarily on the use of prepositions in New Testament Greek.
