The concept of “seventy times seven” is repeated throughout the Bible. It usually connotes
something that is ongoing in perpetuity. The book of Daniel prophesies the punishment of the children of Israel for seventy “weeks of years” for their disobedience. The final week of years will come at the end of the time of the Gentiles. The Jewish people who are still wearing blinders to the truth will remain under this punishment until the return of Christ. When that happens, they will finally recognize Him and He will be King.
