In the New Testament, there are two different Greek word groups translated with the English word “fill.” One word group describes a filling of the Spirit that is foundational and required for every Christian, which results in a renewing of the mind. The other is a discretional gift from God that is a pouring out of His Spirit to equip people for service, to do His work.
