Understanding the seventy weeks of years in Daniel’s writing is critical to interpreting end times prophecy. Sixty-nine of those seventy weeks of years have been fulfilled, beginning at the time of the commandment to rebuild Jerusalem after the Babylonian captivity, and culminating at the coming of Messiah the Prince. There is a gap of time for “the time of the Gentiles” to be fulfilled, for God to finish harvesting souls who will yet call on the name of Jesus Christ. Then the last week will occur, which is unfolded in the book of Revelation.
