The fruit of the Spirit listed in Galatians 5 are attributes of God in us. The Greek word translated “gentleness” is not a description of a weak Christian; it is better translated as “being useful or profitable to God or our fellow man.” When we yield to God, He will enable us and make us profitable to Him, and His goodness will be operating in us.
