The Tabernacle: The Four Spices
We see the picture of Jesus in the four spices used in the Old Testament Tabernacle; myrrh – symbolizing love, cinnamon – which represents passion or zeal, calamus – which stands for straightness, and cassia which typifies worshipfully bowing down in humility. These four spices must be mixed with the oil to flow as one, as the Holy Spirit (symbolized by the oil) must be flowing through us in order for these characteristics (love, passion, straightness and humility) to be brought forth through us.
