The human personality can be divided into two parts: subconscious and conscious.  Subconscious is where all the drives and the wants of human nature reside: "I want" side.  Our conscious side is divided into two parts: judicial and executive.  The judicial is the conscience, the "I ought" part.  The executive is the "I will" part, and it's what the world sees.
