The Book of Galatians proclaims our freedom in Christ and the second chapter tells the story of Paul’s trip to Jerusalem. The Jerusalem church had become a legalistic church of works with the brethren checking out Christians to see if they had been circumcised. Paul’s message gives the freedom to observe the Old Testament Law as long as you do not fall into the trap that it’s a necessary part of the Gospel because we are not justified by the works of the law but by the faith of Jesus Christ.
