The blessings that flow from giving the right way to God go beyond eternal rewards and eternal salvation. Jesus Himself makes it clear, after the rich young ruler went away sorrowfully, that there are earthly rewards during this life for the man or woman that forsakes all. Once again, though, it’s a paradox: to receive the hundredfold of houses and family and lands, the recipient has to forsake with no expectation or presumption of anything in return.
