The fruit of the Spirit listed in Galatians 5 describes attributes of God in us.  The fruit of gentleness is not a description of a weak Christian.  The original Greek word is better translated as useful or profitable to God or our fellow man. When we yield to God, He will enable us and make us profitable to Him and His goodness will be operating in us. Galatians 5. VF-2458.
