The cross of Jesus Christ and His resurrection are inextricably linked.  It is His power over death and sin.  Those that reject the message of the cross are in the process of perishing and to them, it is foolishness.  For the believer that stays connected in faith, the message of the cross is the promise of salvation and eternal life. 1 Corinthians 1:18.
