God condemned the Edomites because of their unbrotherly behavior towards Judah.  When strangers invaded Judah, the Edomites did not come to the aid of their brothers, they acted like their enemies.  In the day of the Lord, His wrath will be upon the nations that came against Him and rejected Him; but God will take care of His people and those that turn to Him.
