God chose the children of Israel, and He gave them instructions for how to relate to Him and to their fellow man.  He intended them to be custodians of His word and to spread it across the face of the earth, but they did not obey Him, so He turned to the Gentiles.  Now He has set us apart to keep this stewardship.
