We are called of Jesus Christ just as Paul was called of Jesus Christ.  The call is intended to elicit a response and the ultimate response is the goal of Christianity – the hearing of faith.  By the hearing of faith we respond to the call and as you keep responding to the call it graduates you to the chosen and then you are characterized as the faithful to the end.
