Galatians: Stand Fast Against the Martyrs of the Devil
In his 1535 commentary on Galatians, Martin Luther warns us against human traditions, works, and trusting our own righteousness, calling the workers of the Law martyrs of the devil. Christ is of no advantage at all to the ones who add works to the Gospel. Anyone who is not aroused to yearn for freedom in Christ by the fact that Paul calls the Law a yoke of slavery, Martin Luther calls that person harder than a rock or a bar of iron. Let’s throw the rocks and bars of iron out! Galatians 5:1-4. © Copyright 1990
