The letter to the church at Philadelphia is focused on the eternal perspective: gaining admittance into the Kingdom. We gain admittance the same way they did, by keeping the word of Christ's endurance. This is accomplished by spending time with Him in His word. As we get to know and trust Him, His presence in us does the work of bringing forth fruit for eternity. For overcoming, we are promised constant fellowship and communion with Him forever.
