Psalm 3 was written by David, who as an old man had to flee from his son, Absalom. Absalom is the type of the shyster that covers his treachery with fake spirituality. David didn't anticipate Absalom's treachery. When we're down the devil knows our soft spot and inflicts great pain and wounding; but then we remember that the Lord is a Shield for us.
