The joy that comes from God is completely separate and distinct from fleshly, carnal joy or happiness.  It’s not natural to us and we cannot will to have it.  It’s a dimension of God’s nature that flows out of divine love, which He imparts to us by the vehicle of the Holy Spirit.  It has multiple meanings throughout the Bible, and it’s a tool that God uses to equip us for service and our daily lives.
