In Mark 3, Jesus entered into a synagogue where there was a man with a withered hand. Jesus commands the man to stand and then to stretch forth his hand in faith in order for Jesus to heal him. We Christians each have a withered hand in our lives. It’s something where we’ve been hurt in one sense, but now we enjoy that it draws sympathy from others and self-pity. That’s just the thing we need to stretch forth in faith again and expect God’s blessing. The prime example of that is in our giving to God, which may have put us in a bind of sorts. But instead of drawing sympathy from family and friends, we should stretch forth our giving in faith again and expect the promises in Malachi 3:10 of a blessing that there shall not be enough room to receive it.
