The distance between David in the Cave of Adullam, where he penned Psalm 34, and the great victories David was singing about in Psalm 18, is greater than the faith challenges we face in our lives today.  And we have the promises revealed through Christ Jesus:  He will never leave us nor forsake us, and His promise to abide in us.  We just need to keep on faithing and don't let go. Psalm 18,34,56,57,142.
